Mobile payment start-up LevelUp has redesigned its mobile app and is bringing on several new execs at its parent company, SCVNGR. The Boston-based company is adding Harald Prokop from Akamai Technologies as CTO and Mark Amabile from Omincom Media Group as CFO. Chris Mahl, formerly SCVNGR's EVP of enterprise, will become the company's chief revenue and strategy officer.

"It's a pretty amazing time here at SCVNGR and LevelUp. We've just moved headquarters into a new 40,000 sq. ft. space in downtown Boston, and we've added literally some of the best talent in the industry with Harald and Mark," said Seth Priebatsch, SCVNGR's "Chief Ninja.

"Our plan is to grow LevelUp into the largest mobile payment network in the country, and we're building an insanely talented executive team to achieve that goal ... fast," Priebatsch said.

The new version of the app, available this week on iTunes and next week for Android devices, adds a  search feature so users can find LevelUp merchants by category and view their transaction history.
