Mountaineer Gas Company, a West Virginia natural gas utility, has launched services on doxo, a paperless bill payment solution. Mountaineer Gas' customers can now receive bills and other documents, organize account info and make payments directly from their free personal doxo account, online or from an iPhone or Android smartphone, according to a doxo news release.

"While we've provided online bill pay for several years through our website, the adoption growth of doxo has been more than tenfold of anything we've seen previously," Gary Barnard, general manger of customer services at Mountaineer Gas Company, said in the release. "Doxo's online and mobile app provides our customers control and flexibility in how they interact with us. Feedback from our customers has been overwhelmingly positive."

The deployment came together in six weeks, doxo said.

According to the utility, each time a customer connects to Mountaineer Gas on doxo, his or her bill and account documents are automatically delivered directly to the customer's doxo digital file cabinet, which can then be accessed online or via the doxo mobile app.

Documents can be printed or downloaded and backed up to the customer's own hard drive or cloud storage service and customers receive emails to notify them of paperless bill delivery of their bills and account documents. And doxoPAY customers can pay bills or set up auto-pay with user-specified limits.

"We're pleased to see Mountaineer Gas off to such a great start, with thousands of new connected customers every month since our launch in July," Steve Shivers, doxo co-founder and CEO, said in the release. "They've achieved one of our quickest launches to date and are sustaining a terrific growth rate in paperless adoption."
