Wine on the go: CardFlight partners with Traveling Vineyard for mPOS service

CardFlight, a mobile point-of-sale technology provider, has announced that Traveling Vineyard, a direct marketer of wines through in-home wine tasting events, will use its services to enable Traveling Vineyard distributors to accept payments from chip cards and mobile devices, according to a press release.

Traveling Vineyard has developed a proprietary iOS application to help wine guides plan and organize tastings. The application integrates CardFlight's SDK, encrypted mobile card readers and payment gateway. CardFlight's Eclipse A200 card reader will enable wine guides to accept both magnetic stripe and EMV chip card payments by attaching the card reader to a smartphone or tablet and using the Traveling Vineyard app, according to the announcement.

"We're excited to work with Traveling Vineyard, a leader in the direct selling industry, and enable them to accept safe and secure card payments from anywhere, at anytime," said Derek Webster, CEO and founder of CardFlight. "Our mission is to enable companies to use the latest payments technology in their own apps, and Traveling Vineyard is a great example of that."

"We are devoted to our wine guides' success, and we look forward to empowering them with the latest mobile payments technology through CardFlight, so they can focus on what they do best without worrying about payments," said Huib Geerlings, a partner at Traveling Vineyard.
