US Bank introduces mobile app for managing HSAs

U.S. Bank's Healthcare Payments group, a provider of employee benefit spending programs, announced a new mobile application for customers to manage their health savings accounts (HSAs) on their smartphones. Currently users can check their HSA balance with the application, but U.S. Bank said that later this year customers will be able to submit claims and send receipts using a smartphone's built-in camera.

"Today, it's all about on-demand account access," said Ralph Bernstein, senior vice president of U.S. Bank's Healthcare Payments group. "Whether customers are using an iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch or Android device, they will have instant, real-time access to their account. That's a tremendous benefit when you're sitting in a doctor's office or a pharmacy, trying to determine the best way to pay for services."

The application is available for both the Apple iOS and Google Android mobile operating systems. It can be downloaded at www.mycdh.usbank.com or through the Apple iTunes Store and the Android Market.
