UK's Metro Bank teams with Sensibill on digital reciept trial for SMEs

Metro Bank Plc, a U.K. digital bank, announced a partnership with Canadian fintech Sensibill to test an app-based digital receipt system for small businesses.

The bank is inviting small businesses to participate in the trial where users can capture receipts with their smartphones and reconcile the data with their bank transaction history.

The bank also plans to roll out plans to integrate bookkeeping, invoicing, receipt management and VAT into the bank's online banking and mobile app, as well as integrate the data with cloud-based accounting providers.

"Accounting tasks, along with chasing invoices and staying on top of receipts, are major pain points for SMEs," Paul Riseborough, chief commercial officer at Metro Bank, said in a company release. "By partnering with Sensibill we're offering an innovative, digital solution that solves real problems for our customers, saving them time spent on admin and allowing them to focus on running and growing their business."
