UK consumers can order food through Foursquare app

Button announced its partnership with hungryhouse, the online food ordering platform and U.K. subsidiary of Delivery Hero, enabling users to order takeaway and food delivery directly through the Foursquare mobile app.

Button, Button, which dubs itself as a contextual commerce platform connecting the mobile app economy, Thursday announced its partnership with hungryhouse, the online food ordering platform and U.K. subsidiary of Delivery Hero, to enable users to order takeaway and food delivery directly through the Foursquare mobile app.

By using Button's platform, Foursquare users are able to discover the best local restaurants and order and pay for takeaway or food delivery from hungryhouse directly through Foursquare. Button said in a press release that hungryhouse is the first online food ordering platform to integrate with Foursquare in the U.K. In the coming months, the company plans to globally expand its coverage giving Foursquare instant access to top delivery services around the globe.

"Button's Marketplace is the connective tissue for this emerging app economy, opening up an alternative channel of driving revenue through commerce as opposed to relying solely on ads," said Michael Jaconi, CEO and co-Founder of Button. "Button's  Marketplace provides Foursquare the easiest way to build these experiences and to give their consumers access to what they want."

The Button Marketplace makes it possible for apps to integrate with some of the fastest growing companies in mobile within minutes, according to the announcement. By bringing these companies into one marketplace, Button offers a way to monetize in mobile without relying solely on ads. By tapping into the Button Marketplace, hungryhouse and Foursquare are able to quickly and easily integrate their apps.

"Our partnership with Button allows us to open up new channels of revenue through commerce while increasing our user engagement," said Scott Fletcher, CEO of hungryhouse. "Users can discover high-quality local takeaways, order and pay for their favorite dishes and review consumer recommendations in a simplified and seamless fashion."
