Study: Retailers see sales increase from mPOS deployment

A new study reveals retailers deploying in-store mobile in a successful fashion are projected to enjoy upwards of 146 percent sale growth in 2018.

The research, from managed mobile services provider Stratix in partnership with IHL Group, noted success is tied to retailers supporting the customer experience and having a trusted partner in the mobile effort.

The survey findings also revealed retailers deploying mobile POS successfully saw a 24 percent average increase in sales in 2017, over retailers who don't implement mobility in-store. Additionally, retailers that are under performing with flat or declining growth — who reported deploying in-store Mobile POS — saw a 100 percent increase in sales for 2017, and predicted another 47 percent growth.

"At Stratix, we're not surprised by these findings," said Stratix President and CEO Gina Gallo in a release on the research findings. "We work with enterprise customers daily on providing scalable deployment and support models for their line-of-business mobile environments. And, as the use cases and complexities for mobile has grown exponentially over the last 10 years, we see that most retail customers are seeking help with staff and support challenges."
