ShopSavvy releases new, improved version of its mobile shopping app
Fresh off a round of $7 million in Series A funding, mobile shopping assistant ShopSavvy released an updated version of its popular app for both iOS and Android devices. According to the company, the new ShopSavvy 5 offers users a list of improved features for the holiday season including one-tap purchasing for online buying at major retailers like Walmart, Target and Best Buy.
"This is a natural extension of what ShopSavvy has always done best — giving shoppers the tools they need to save money and time, which is never more important than during the busy holiday season," said ShopSavvy founder and CEO Alexander Muse in the announcement.
Muse said the company expects to play a role in the $6 billion mobile commerce market this year thanks to its offer of convenient in-app purchasing from retailers nationwide.
According to the company, the ShopSavvy app has been downloaded more than 20 million times and has more than 10 million current unique users.
Along with one-tap shopping, which allows users who scan an item in-store to see better deals online for the same product, the new ShopSavvy 5 includes an enhanced search feature, improved comparison shopping and more local deals.
