SecureNet follows developer-friendly route with new mobile, payment tools
Austin, Texas-based SecureNet Payment Systems is following a developer-friendly strategy that attempts to woo app developers responsible for monetizing mobile applications. (It's a strategy similar to those being pursued by companies like Braintree and Stripe.)
SecureNet has announced the release of APIs for iOS developers, which was created to streamline the payments experience within mobile applications, as well as to support in-app acceptance of payments. New code libraries also support secure card storage and automated recurring payments, the company said.
"SecureNet’s mobile libraries give developers the freedom to focus on innovating their mobile technology by providing all the development tools, documentation and resources a mobile software developer needs to quickly integrate payments into their mobile application," said Brent Warrington, CEO of SecureNet.
The new APIs are free to license and designed for simple integration, so that developers can add payments quickly with the flexibility to fully customize the checkout experience, SecureNet said. SecureNet’s mobile API libraries include:
- iOS Code Library Package
- Connector (API) Specifications Package
- Developer’s Guide
- Sample Code
- Test & Certification Environment to Ensure Compliance and Quality
The company said it will expand its mobile libraries to include other mobile development platforms soon. A mobile point-of-sale application with hardware is slated for release at the end of June. A suite of developer integration tools is also coming at the end of June, SecureNet said.
