Salesfloor mobile app links Neiman Marcus stylists, customers via Instagram

Salesfloor, a mobile platform for sales associates, has announced a feature called SocialShop that allows retail salespeople to share Instagram posts with their customers, who can then purchase the product online and credit the associate.

The store associate creates a link to enable customers to shop recent Instagram posts that are automatically credited back to the employee. The store associate can also add photos, assets and shoppable products to the feed.

The Montreal-based mobile app platform provider said it is working with stylists from Neiman Marcus, who are currently offering the Instagram posts to their customers. Salesfloor plans to launch with additional retailers later this month. The company hopes to offer the program with other social media networks later this year.

About 30 percent of online shoppers have indicated in research studies that they would make a purchase from a major social network, according to Oscar Sachs, co-founder and CEO of Salesfloor.

"Our clients realize this represents a huge opportunity to leverage their associates' connections and convert social media networks onto a sales platform," he said.
