RockItCoin deploys 100th bitcoin ATM in Las Vegas
Chicago-based bitcoin ATM operator RockItCoin recently announced the placement of its 100th machine in the United States with the installation of two units in Las Vegas.
"We are strategically expanding our network to meet demand," RockItCoin founder and CEO Michael Dalesandro said in a press release. "We are looking to double in size through new machine placements and acquisitions."
The company, which claims to be the nation's third largest bitcoin ATM deployer, said that Las Vegas was a natural fit with its focus on installations in major metropolitan areas.
"We have machines in California and wanted to expand into this market," Dalesandro said. The RockItCoin intends to deploy additional machines in Las Vegas and the western U.S.
RockItCoin machines provide access to a variety of cryptocurrencies, including bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, litecoin, and Ethereum.
To transact at the machines, the user must first provide proper identification, followed by validation via text message. The user is then able to buy or sell any of the supported cryptocurrencies.
Depending on the amount transacted, the whole process takes not much longer than a standard ATM visit, the release said. Users can store their currency in the company's free digital wallet, which is available on iTunes.
"Our app provides the customer a convenient way to manage their cryptocurrencies while maintaining custody and control themselves," Dalesandro said. "While not required to transact at the machine, the RockItCoin app works seamlessly with our ATMs."
