Rivetz partners with Payger on P2P payments

Mobile security firm Rivetz said it has teamed up with digital asset platform Payger to enable mobile hardware security on Payger's peer-to-peer payment and messaging platform.

Payger will integrate Rivetz Dual Roots of Trust technology to allow users to store private keys within "secure enclaves" on their mobile phones with private key self-governance, according to an announcement.

Rivetz Dual Roots of Trust distributes a private key between secure enclaves or two "roots," known as the Trusted Execution Environment and the Subscriber Identity Module. The TEE is an isolated computer environment separate from the operating system. All digital transactions are provisioned through TEE, to ensure that the private keys are not stolen even if the OS is infected with malware, according to the release.

"Rivetz will provide a safer and easier-to-use model in order for Payger users to protect their digital assets and online transactions by leveraging a hardware-based device identity," RivetzFounder and CEO Steven Sprague said in the release. "Users should be able to trust their devices to produce uncompromised commands and transactions. Utilizing the potential of trusted computing will make passwords go away and replace them with registered devices. By doing so, we will deliver more value with more conscience to their users."
