QuickPay, CreditCall join forces on mobile payments for parking

Cash may not be dying anytime soon, but will anyone miss digging for change to feed a parking meter? Payment services provider CreditCall and mobile parking services provider QuickPay Corp. are working toward the glorious day when that won't be necessary, and have announced a new plug-and-play mobile payment option that lets parking operators accept mobile payments.

Using the QuickPay app for iOS and Android devices, or using SMS and voice-based functions, commuters and motorists in the U.S. can now conveniently pay for parking using their mobile phones.

Additionally, QuickPay apps and services help users find parking.

"We can now quickly add new parking operators without added work to integrate with their merchant processors, and no added charges for adding virtual layers on top of their merchant processors," said Barney Pell, chairman and CEO of QuickPay. "This speeds time to market and time to partnership at substantially lower cost."

CreditCall gives QuickPay the ability to provide users a single mobile wallet that lets them register once and then pay at any QuickPay partner.

The partnership also means that parking managers have tools that simplify revenue reconciliation and reporting while lowering credit card processing costs, the companies said.
