Qdoba testing Apple's Passbook

Qdoba Mexican Grill is the latest chain to announce a partnership with Apple's Passbook on iOS 6, the mobile system that allows users to scan their iPhones to make purchases, check in for flights, get into a movie or redeem a coupon. To date, Apple has announced planned Passbook integrations with some of the biggest consumer brands, including Starbucks, American Airlines, TicketMaster, Target, Sheraton, MLB.com and Sephora.

Qdoba is now testing a Passbook version of its Rewards card for its Chicago guests – one of the first restaurants to do so and a major step in Qdoba's plan to further mobilize its customer loyalty program in 2013. The Passbook test will allow Qdoba guests to use their existing Qdoba Rewards cards to earn or redeem rewards at any of the 24 Chicagoland Qdoba locations without having to physically carry the card with them. If the test performs well, Qdoba will roll out its Passbook integration system-wide in early 2013. All of Qdoba's 600-plus restaurant locations will be equipped with mobile-enabled scanners by February 2013.

Qdoba's Passbook test is being offered to Chicago guests primarily via email through their iO6 enabled devices.
