Powa Technologies opens software developer program to ISVs
Powa Technolgies this week announced the completion of its Alpha program and rollout of its advanced PowaPOS Software Developer Program to independent software vendors (ISVs) globally, according to a press release. Developers can access the portal today, via the PowaPOS website.
The PowaPOS Software Developer Program features the PowaPOS SDK and online Developer Portal that, together, enables app integration with PowaPOS point-of-sale hardware and services, including PowaTag, the company's mobile commerce solution that has more than 500 brand partners worldwide, according to the announcement PowaTag's global expansion was recently enhanced with the acquisition of Hong Kong-based MPayMe.
"When our team of industry veterans designed PowaPOS, our overriding objective was to simplify the transition to next generation POS. We did that with the industry's first, true all-in-one tablet-based hardware solution," William Pittman, EVP of customer implementation for PowaPOS, said in a press release. "Now, with the PowaPOS Software Developer Program, we're easing integration by building a highly-scalable, platform neutral solution with best-in-class software support to match our best-in-class hardware."
The PowaPOS SDK works with existing smartphone and tablet applications, according to the announcement. A consistent set of APIs work across iOS, Android and Windows operating systems and drives the PowaPOS T-Series hardware and the PowaPIN EMV-enabled card reader. Standard interfaces are provided for the T-Series' unique integration of tilting/swiveling tablet mount, high-speed printer, 2D barcode scanner, encrypting magnetic stripe reader, EMV-compliant smartcard reader, secure PIN-entry keypad, and cash drawer. The T-25 can also support multiple third-party peripherals when required.
