Postmates adds 134 cities to delivery area, gives discount to Chipotle customers
Postmates has added service, this year, in more than 130 cities, giving it a presence in 550 cities nationwide, covering 60 percent of national households, a news release said.
Now, the third-party delivery company is making it worthwhile for customers in its most recently added markets to order through the service by giving customers in those 134 markets the opportunity to take $4 off their first Chipotle orders when they use the code CHIPOTLE134.
"Unlike other on-demand services, Postmates sees the cities we operate in as our warehouses — by making every merchant and restaurant accessible through the Postmates app," Postmates co-founder and CEO Bastian Lehmann, said in the release. "Our mission is to support local communities through local people delivering goods from local merchants. In 2017, Postmates' fleet earned over $200 million in the U.S. and merchants on the Postmates platform generally see four times the growth in sales."
Postmates has also achieved the No.1 market share in Los Angeles and other major Southwest markets and provides access to over 200,000 merchants, including many restaurants in most cities, according to the release.
