Point Inside launches new indoor location product that unlocks beacons for retailers

StoreLocation consists of two services, the Beacon Planner and Beacon Activator.

Point Inside, a provider of in-store product location products for retailers, today announced its StoreLocation product that is intended to enable retailers to take advantage of beacon-based location technologies to engage with shoppers in-store via a mobile device.

StoreLocation consists of two services, the Beacon Planner and Beacon Activator, according to a press release. The combination helps retailers plan, place, manage, and monitor beacons at scale across hundreds or thousands of individual store locations, according to the announcement.

"As shoppers increasingly demand online-like experiences in stores, beacons present a huge opportunity for retailers to bring the benefits of digital to brick-and-mortar," said Aaron Dane, retail experience and innovation manager at Point Inside. "By making it easy to manage and deploy beacons, StoreLocation helps retailers digitally connect with shoppers in-store through relevant and contextual messages."

Point Inside said StoreLocation is built on its StoreMode platform, which creates a digital representation of each retail store capturing current product locations, departments, and services.

StoreLocation supports hardware from leading beacon providers and includes the following services:

  • Beacon Planner – A platform that allows retailers to easily plan beacon placement locations remotely via digital store maps, ensure sufficient coverage in-store, and make beacon execution easy for store employees.
  • Beacon Activator – A mobile management tool that retailers can use to activate, plan, place, and move beacons within a store via any iOS device.
