PayByPhone adds parking app to Amazon Appstore for Fire phone
PayByPhone announced this week its mobile parking payment app is available in the Amazon Appstore for Amazon's new Fire phone, as well as Kindle Fire devices, according to a press release.
The Fire phone's NFC capability will work with PayByPhone's parking meter stickers in Seattle and San Francisco, which feature a passive electronic chip that stores information such as the meter number, according to the announcement. Users wave or tap their NFC-enabled phones over the sticker on the meter to automatically launch the PayByPhone app. The mobile payment system recognizes the user and identifies the exact parking location.
"PayPoint has innovated using Fire phone's unique capabilities to offer customers a new kind of experience for people on the go," Steve Rabuchin, vice president of the Amazon Appstore, said in a statement. "We're thrilled that PayPoint has created an app for Fire phone. We think customers are going to love the experience."
