Nonprofits, campaigns get mobile donation tool from Blue State Digital
Digital marketing agency Blue State Digital announced it has a simple new "Quick Donate" program for use on mobile devices. The program lets repeat donors make their contributions in seconds using a mobile phone or handheld device.
BSD targets nonprofit and political clients and is rolling out its new Quick Donate program to those clients, allowing donors to make a gift instantly on a mobile device in response to a solicitation. The program delivers 100 percent of the donated funds to the campaign or charity immediately, BSD said. Other mobile giving platforms often deduct fees to mobile carriers and third-party services and may hold funds for days or weeks, the company said.
"Our clients are increasingly asking us for mobile giving and engagement tools, because more and more of their supporters are interacting with them on smartphones and mobile devices rather than on computers," explained Jascha Franklin-Hodge, Chief Technology Officer for BSD. "BSD's Quick Donate is direct marketing in its purest and most efficient form — it helps organizations connect emotionally with their most loyal fans, and gives those fans the means to take instant action."
BSD said its Quick Donate mobile giving platform is an extension of an organization's BSD Tools CRM database. Participants are invited to save credit card information for future donations and to opt in to receive communications. They then get text messages or emails for donation opportunities that can be converted in seconds by replying to a text message or clicking on a link, no need to enter any additional information.
Franklin-Hodge said organizations and campaigns work hard to keep on top of events in a fast news cycle, and the Quick Donate technology helps them put giving opportunities in front of their supporters quickly as events unfold.
"When making a gift takes just a few seconds, it's more likely to be an impulsive act, and that means higher participation rates and higher revenue," Franklin-Hodge said.
