Mobile Interactive Group buys Zaypay

Mobile Interactive Group (MIG), a London-based digital and mobile communications company, announced it has acquired Zaypay, a mobile micropayments company in the Netherlands.

"MIG’s vision for Zaypay is to build a one stop shop for online and mobile monetisation solutions to merchants, online billing providers and developers globally," said Barry Houlihan, CEO and founder of MIG.

Houlihan said MIG understands that developers are driving the industry and that Zaypay is a platform built by developers, for developers, and added that the company's aim is to build stronger relationships specifically with the developer community, to provide them with a frictionless payment system tailored to their platforms, and to understand and support their requirements around monetization on an international scale.

On behalf of Zaypay, company CTO Basitaan Peters said, "We’re extremely proud of what we’ve achieved over the past five years; we’ve built a profitable micropayments technology business and now, with the acquisition from MIG, the Zaypay business can be taken to the next level."

MIG said Zaypay was acquired for an all cash undisclosed sum. Zaypay will continue to be operated as a standalone business, the company said.
