MICROS, Tabbedout deploy restaurant mobile payment platform

MICROS Systems Inc., a provider of information technology solutions for the hospitality and retail industries, has announced an integration, sales and marketing partnership with ATX Innovations Inc. using Tabbedout. Tabbedout provides a secure way to open, review and pay restaurant or bar tabs using a smartphone.

The partnership allows restaurant and bar merchants to deploy Tabbedout's software through their existing MICROS POS software without any additional hardware requirements.

MICROS and its authorized resellers will sell, install and maintain the Tabbedout application without any downtime to the merchant's system.

"Since deploying Tabbedout, which is fully integrated to our MICROS point-of-sale system, we have noticed that it not only attracts more patrons, it has increased table turns, which is key as sometimes the hardest thing for a restaurant to do during peak serving time is to check someone out to increase speed of the table turn," said Bob Amick, owner of Atlanta-based Concentrics Restaurants.

Thus far, Tabbedout's payment and marketing engine has enabled thousands of mobile payments at restaurants and bars in 49 cities in 13 states, according to Rick Orr, Tabbedout's co-founder and CEO.

"Tabbedout, as a fully integrated extension of our current POS products, allows convenient customer payment and popular social media forums through mobile devices," saidMichael L. Russo, MICROS chief technology officer. "MICROS is an innovative company committed to supporting the very best in advanced technologies – as with Tabbedout – that bring our merchant customers more revenue and improve the patrons' experiences at their venues."
