Malaysia Airlines partners with PayPal to offer mobile payments for ticketing

Malaysia Airlines announced a new partnership with payment processor PayPal. Customers of the airline can now reserve and book travel on their smartphones using the airline's website or MHmobile app and pay for the tickets in as little as two clicks using their PayPal accounts.

"More and more customers are turning to mobile these days and we are working towards enhancing the customer experience by ensuring safer, smoother transactions via mobile devices," said Malaysia Airlines Senior Vice President of Marketing and Promotions, Al-Ishsal Ishak. "We believe our collaboration with PayPal will provide our customers with just what they need in today's fast-paced and mobile-centric lifestyle."

Malaysia Airlines said the customer experience is enhanced with the introduction of PayPal's faster, safer mobile payment service. Booking and paying for tickets is much faster than with other online payment options.

"Malaysia Airlines provides a world-class airline ticketing experience on mobile devices and we're happy to enable their mobile ticketing app and site with our simpler, safer mobile payment service," said Rahul Shinghal, PayPal Asia Pacific director of mobile.

The MHMobile app is available for iOS, Android and Nokia Windows Phone mobile devices. The mobile checkout solution from PayPal has been integrated with the SITA mobile ticketing system which is used by more than 500 airlines worldwide.
