Malauzai introduces business banking app

Malauzai Software, an Austin, Texas-based provider of mobile banking SmartApps for community banks and credit unions, has launched a mobile app for commercial banking customers, according to a company announcement.

The Business Mobile SmartApp provides the high security standards and controls required in a mobile banking business environment, the company said. It enables users to set custom features such as entitlements and functionalities available to individual employees.

Other features provided by the business mobile SmartApp include integration with financial institutions' commercial banking platforms, and the ability to manage accounts across multiple entities and view multiple account balances.

The Business Mobile SmartApp has been implemented by New Castle, Ind.-based Ameriana Bank, Malauzai said in a news release.

"Malauzai developed our personal banking SmartApp in 2011 and has been our mobile banking provider since then," Deborah Bell, Ameriana Bank's senior vice president and chief information officer, said in a statement. "When we were presented the opportunity to launch the Ameriana Biz app through Malauzai, we jumped at the chance. Few people are without a smartphone, and we want our customers, both personal and commercial, to be able to conduct banking in the palm of their hand."

Malauzai said it developed the Business Mobile SmartApp in response to demand from businesses for a mobile banking platform designed specifically for their needs.

According to an annual survey from U.S. consulting firm ath Power, 66 percent of U.S. small business owners said they would switch banks for better mobile services.
