Longtime pizza delivery holdout, Little Caesars, announced Sunday they are getting into the increasingly important food delivery game by partnering with DoorDash. The brand is also touting its delivery advantages, which it says include lower delivery prices than other large chains and a streamlined process offered by the brand's in-store pizza portals. 

The company said its delivery orders are "at least $5 less than the same order from the other three top national pizza chains," referring to Domino's, Pizza Hut and Papa John's. The brand said it is also offering the same price for pies that are delivered or picked up in-store, regardless of the quantity. 

The brand did not say in its news release how many stores are currently enrolled for delivery, though it did say that "throughout the U.S." delivery service is available during all store operating hours.

"We've seen such expensive and complex pricings throughout the pizza industry, and we think it's crazy!" Little Caesars President and CEO David Scrivano said in the release. "Some chains require a minimum purchase to get their deals, or the discount pricing is only available on carry-out orders. We're excited to bring much needed affordability to delivered pizza."

The brand has long promoted its heated self-service mobile order pick-up stations in stores, and now says those portals as well as the brand's app and POS are all integrated to better provide an incident-free experience for both delivery drivers and customers. Delivery customers must use the app or website to order, pay and choose pick-up or delivery. When the order's ready, the app notifies the driver for delivery. He or she can then go directly to the portals/lockers to retrieve and deliver the pizzas. 

DoorDash currently serves more than 4,000 cities and all 50 states, Canada  and Australia.
