KeyBank adds mobile banking features for consumer, commercial clients

Cleveland, Ohio-based KeyBank is expanding mobile banking for all customers — both commercial and consumer — with new mobile banking features.

"We're seeing double-digit growth in our clients' use of consumer mobile banking, and we know our commercial clients have increasing interest in mobile," said Matthew D. Lehman, head of online and mobile banking at Keybank, in a statement.

KeyBank said that customer use of the FI's mobile banking tools increased by 45 percent between 2011 and 2012.

With the upgrade, consumers will get a remote deposit capture tool that allows them to deposit checks into their accounts using the embedded camera on a smartphone along with the bank's mobile app.

Businesses will get a new Key Total Treasury Mobile tool that lets them view account information, make ACH and wire payments, and review Intraday and Previous Day reports, all on the go.

Additionally, retailers can use KeyBank Merchant Services Mobile to accept credit and debit card payments through their mobile devices.

"More business owners, particularly owners of small businesses, use mobile devices to manage their business matters," said Jordan M. Olack, senior vice president for product management for KeyBank enterprise commercial payments.
