JD Sports launches in-store PayPal payments
The U.K. sports fashion chain JD Sports has launched mobile payments across its six brands and 630 U.K. stores through a partnership with PayPal, Retail Week reports.
The U.K.-based magazine said the new service enables shoppers to pay using their mobile devices in-store via their PayPal account and smartphone app.
The service is available in all of J.D. Sports' brands, including Size, Millets, Scotts and Bank, Retail Week said.
After a store assistant has scanned a product that a customer wants to purchase, the customer has the option of saying he or she wants to pay via PayPal. After the customer has logged in to PayPal, the PayPal app generates a barcode and transaction number that the cashier scans. Payment for the purchase is then deducted from the customer's PayPal account.
