The Italian restaurant group Prezzo has launched an app that lets diners pay with their mobile phones, according to Eat Out. The company has 186 restaurants in the U.K.

According to the site, diners can see their bill on their phone at any time during the meal and pay whenever they're ready to leave. The app lets guests split bills and add tips; an email receipt is sent to the payer's smartphone.

Diners must choose which restaurant location they'll visit and are given a related four-digit code, which they provide to their server. Payment is by debit or credit card or PayPal and is powered by MyCheck, the site said. The app is available in for iOS and Android devices.
