Intuit's acquisition of AisleBuyer confirmed

Both AisleBuyer and Intuit have confirmed that Intuit has entered into an agreement to acquire AisleBuyer. The deal is expected to close this week.

In an email to Mobile Payments Today, a spokeswoman for Intuit said Intuit has purchased the Boston-based mobile commerce company. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, though BostInno, in breaking the story yesterday, reported the price was between $80 and $100 million.

The Intuit spokeswoman said the company will leverage AisleBuyer’s technology and talent to add value to Intuit's mobile payment and point of sale offerings.

"AisleBuyer’s technology opens up the mobile point of sale ecosystem to our developers and third-party developers to deliver innovative offerings to our small business customers," she said.

AisleBuyer offers a mobile commerce platform that lets merchants create mobile offer and line-busting applications for customers. The platform can also be used to create mobile tools that employees can use to assist customers in-store.

According to information from Intuit and AisleBuyer, AisleBuyer's technology platform will be used to transition the point of sale, including Intuit's GoPayment mobile POS solution, to the cloud as well as opening the mobile POS ecosystem to third-party developers.

AisleBuyer CEO Andrew Paradise will continue to run the company as a part of Intuit's Mobile POS team.
