Icelandic company snags mPOS provider's merchant partners
Snorrason Holdings today announced it has signed an agreement with mPOS platform provider Handpoint to acquire its Icelandic merchant portfolio.
Snorrason Holdings ehf, a provider of international payment processing services, today announced it has signed an agreement with Handpoint, mobile point-of-sale platform provider, to acquire Handpoint's Icelandic merchant portfolio. The company will merge the portfolio into its DalPay merchant services division, according to a press release.
"We have not just acquired the payment processing operations for Handpoint's Icelandic customers (which is a great acquisition in itself); we have also added the capability to offer our customers the industry's most innovative and trusted mPOS solutions," Snorrason CEO Bjorn Snorrason said in a statement. "This deal is a win-win situation for everyone involved: DalPay will welcome some of Iceland's largest companies to its customer base; and DalPay clients will be able to accept in-person credit and debit card or mobile app payments while continuing to accept online payments from their customers worldwide as they do today."
Snorrason Holdings anticipates that mPOS terminals will be made available to all qualifying DalPay merchants by the end of 2014.
