Handepay to use Creditcall product for mPOS
Creditcall's product comprises a payment app, which links via Bluetooth to a secure PIN entry device.
Creditcall, a payment gateway provider and EMV migration specialist, Monday announced it has provided the payment functionality for card payment specialist Handepay's mPOS initiative, Handepay MobilePAY, according to a press release.
MobilePAY uses Creditcall's mPOS product, which comprises a payment app (downloaded from an app store), which links via Bluetooth to a secure PIN entry device. All transactions are routed through Creditcall's PCI DSS Level 1 certified payment gateway, allowing detailed, accurate and timely transaction reports, according to the release.
Creditcall said in the announcement that by combining a secure card reader with a business owner's smart phone or tablet, Handepay MobilePAY turns the mobile device into a fully compliant chip-and-PIN machine, enabling businesses to accept card payments from their customers on the go, face-to-face, or over the phone via the inclusive virtual terminal.
The new product is targeted at independent retailers and tradespeople who want to increase sales by offering a card payment option that can be obtained via a short-term rental plan or purchased outright, according to the announcement. Handepay MobilePAY complements existing static card machines by allowing independent businesses to proactively reach out to their customers, rather than waiting for customers to come to them.
"Our aim at Handepay is to help independent businesses save money and grow," said Mark Latham, product and innovations director of Handepay. "By partnering with Creditcall we have been able to provide independent retailers with a low cost, secure and simple way of accepting credit and debit card payments, wherever they are based."
