Google Assistant's AI tech can now open and search through mobile apps for products, people or even events, extending the reach of the voice-based system in order to compete in the marketplace, according to a report in Seeking Alpha.

The integration goes beyond searches to specific tasks that Android apps can perform such as ordering food via Postmates.
