Fiserv's Clover adds online ordering to POS platform
Fiserv Inc. announced that Clover Online Ordering has launched as an added feature to the Clover point-of-sale platform.
The feature was added in response to restaurants needing to convert their service options to delivery and pickup-only in many states due to COVID-19 related social distancing measures, which forced most establishments across the country to close dining rooms.
“We built Clover on the foundation of serving small businesses,” John Beatty, co-founder of Clover, said in a company release from Fiserv. "In the current environment, that has meant expediting the capabilities our merchants urgently need to take their business online and lessen the overall impact to their business operations."
He said Clover lets customers pay via credit or debit card or mobile wallet options, including Apple Pay, Google Pay or Samsung Pay.
The company, which launched the platform three weeks ago, said it was being used at more than 1,500 restaurants.
The technology allows restaurants to integrate the web-based service into their company website or as a standalone page while ordering from an online menu.
Clover Online Ordering also offers the Clover app, which allows customers to accumulate rewards points and receive promotional offers from their favorite restaurants. The app is available on the App Store or Google Play.
