Fiserv Inc. announced the acquisition of MerchantPro Express, a deal that will expand the company's merchant services business. 

MerchantPro Express, based in Melville, N.Y., is an Independent Service Organization (ISO), that provides processing services, sophisticated point-of-sale equipment and merchant cash advances to companies nationwide.

"MerchantPro Express has been a key Fiserv distribution partner since 2009," Devin McGranahan, senior group president, Global Business Solutions at Fiserv, said in a company release. "By combining our solutions and expertise under one roof, we will be able to expand and speed the delivery of new and innovative solutions."

The deal will combine Fiserv's payment solutions, which include CoPilot, CardPointe and Clover with the sophisticated onboarding service provided by MerchantPro Express, according to a company release. 

"By completing this transaction, we have confirmed our commitment to provide a high quality and sustainable platform for our agents, employees and customers," Chris Briller, chief executive officer at MerchantPro Express, said in the release from Fiserv. “The highly regarded Fiserv brand and focus on growth will enable us to distribute premier products and services to our clients."
