Digital River releases white label mobile payment solution
Digital River Inc. has launched Beanstream Mobile, suite of mobile payment solutions for iPhone, iPad and Android devices, the company announced. The solution lets merchants accept encrypted credit transactions with white-labeled iOS and Android applications that support up to 140 currencies.
Beanstream Mobile works with an encrypted card reader and a free downloadable app. With the solution and their mobile device, merchants can swipe or key in credit or debit card data on the spot, accept and track cash and check transactions, and capture online sales. In addition, merchants can supply receipts, with geo-location data, directly from the app via a printed copy, email or text message. The system consolidates all sales workflows and data into one system, making analytics more accessible and comprehensive, the company said.
The interface and encrypted card reader are specifically designed to be white-labeled by brands and financial institutions.
"Existing mobile payment solutions have fallen short for merchants with multi-currency operations, in-store and online sales, and inventories," Souheil Badran, senior vice president and general manager, global payments and commerce at Digital River, said in a news release. "Now, merchants will be able to unify their payment channels with one device and accept credit card mobile payments in 140 currencies through an integration with Digital River World Payments' international bank connections."
Beanstream Mobile for iPad, the flagship app, offers inventory capability that lets merchants add photos of products and create UPC codes, the company said. By leveraging Digital River's API toolkit, users can quickly upload existing inventory and retrieve analytics and sales data from all apps in the mobile product family. With point-to-point encryption, no data is stored on the device.
"Small businesses including charities, service organizations, traveling salesmen and drivers, among many others, can't get their job done without being mobile," Badran said. "For these merchants who have struggled to get paid in a timely and organized way, Beanstream Mobile will simplify the entire payment process by providing their customers more choice for payment methods."
The apps are available in the Apple iTunes and Google Play stores. Beanstream API is also available for developers who wish to integrate mobile payment capabilities into their application.
