Corona developers get carrier billing via Fortumo
Mobile development software company Corona Labs is joining with mobile payments provider Fortumo to bring in-app purchasing in 80 countries to Corona SDK's developer community. With Fortumo, developers will have access to direct carrier billing to monetize their apps
According to a press release on the partnership, Fortumo's functionality can now be used by Corona SDK developers in their apps and games via a Corona Plugin. The Corona Plugin lets Corona developers add new functionality and third-party services to their apps using a minimal amount of code, the companies said.
"Fortumo is excited to offer additional monetization solutions to Corona Labs' thriving community of developers," said Martin Koppel, COO of Fortumo. "The mobile industry is seeing an explosive growth of in-app transactions and Fortumo allows developers to capitalize on this trend."
David Rangel, COO of Corona Labs, said the partnership will give Corona developers an option that performs extremely well across various markets. He also said the addition of in-app purchases for Nook apps will be highly welcomed by a large number of Corona developers.
