BBVA tests facial recognition payments
BBVA is testing a facial recognition program with its employees that enables them to use the technology to pay for food at the company's cafeterias and restaurants throughout a seven-building complex, according to a report from BankingTech.
Employees who dine at the company's restaurants pay at a cash register with a camera booth of sorts nearby. BBVA's technology identifies the buyer and bills them accordingly for the purchase.
BBVA also is giving employees the option of using a Selfie & Go app to order and pay for beverages ahead of time at its cafeterias.
