Wireless transaction and information solutions company Apriva has teamed up with Arizona State University to offer deals and information to students. It has launched the app ASU Deals, which provides students with coupons, loyalty programs and maps, according to the press release.
The goal of ASU Deals is to help increase engagement between students and the community. It is designed to deliver special deals, marketing promotions for local businesses in the area. The app also can deliver campus information such as wayfinding. Several businesses such as the Sun Devil campus store and restaurants have signed up for the program.
ASU Deals is built on the cloud-based app platform AprivaLife, which is designed to provide Apriva's point-of-sale solutions by utilizing "payments, loyalty programs, promotional offers, location-based services, social media and identification features," according to the press release.
"Mobile marketing presents a fantastic opportunity for businesses in the coming years, especially when it can be paired with payments functionality. According to eMarketer estimates, more than 200 million United States consumers will have smartphones by 2017," said David Riddiford, president of Apriva.
