AnwhereCommerce has signed a strategic partnership agreement to supply mobile point-of-sale payment technology to Mexican merchant payments processor Prosa. Montreal, Canada-based AnywhereCommerce develops end-to-end mobile payment technology, including acceptance devices, software applications and gateway services.

As a result of the agreement, Prosa will use AnywhereCommerce's "aCommerce Gateway" for accepting credit, debit, cash and gift card payments. The agreement covers the use of AnywhereCommerce's payment acceptance software as well as its mPOS devices, including the Walker model that is certified by EMVCo and accepts both EMV and magnetic-stripe based card payments. AnywhereCommerce’s products support gift card and loyalty program payments, and operate on most mobile operating systems, including Android, iOS and Windows mobile platforms.

Besides Mexico, Prosa provides merchant processing services to other Latin American markets. "We had been looking for a high-quality and reliable mobile payments solution provider who also understands the Latin American landscape and the particular challenges facing merchants in these diverse markets," Jose Molina, Prosa’s CEO, said in a press release.

The regional reach of Prosa is also an attraction for AnywhereCommerce. “The deal with Prosa substantially expands our presence in Mexico, and underscores AnywhereCommerce's commitment to serve the burgeoning Latin American marketplace,” said Bill Nichols, executive vice president, International Markets for AnywhereCommerce.
