Adyen introduces one-click mobile payment platform

International payment processor Adyen announced a new single-click mobile payment solution available for iPhone and Android smartphones. The new product enables app developers to implement an alternative payment method for iTunes that can also accept a range of payment types such as credit cards and PayPal from within a mobile app or website.

"A growing number of our customers have been asking for an alternative payment solution to iTunes on the iPhone, in addition to supporting payments on Android devices ... and this is exactly what we have developed," said Adyen COO Roelant Prins.

According to the announcement, the new platform removes the burden of security and PCI compliance from merchants and developers. The platform also processes mobile payments with a single click, eliminating the requirement to enter and re-enter credit card details for each and every purchase and improving the user experience.

"More and more of our customers have been demanding flexibility and convenience over mobile," said Johan van Vulpen, CEO of Adyen customer Greetz, in the announcement. "Adyen's payment platforms have been developed with this in mind."
