Absa Bank’s NovoFX helps send money across Africa

A product of Absa bank, the NovoFX app helps users with international mobile payments. The app is equipped with a wide range of currencies to choose from to make an exchange and send to business associates, friends or family, per a report in Dignited.com

The NovoFX app has the ability to send money or make payments, access a live forex service, and upload documents relevant to a transaction. Users select the country from where they are making transactions to the Absa markets of Botswana, Seychelles, South Africa, Uganda and Zambia.

The app can make outward payments only, and a user can transfer the money in at least 11 currencies, including South African rand; US Dollar; British pound; Euro; Canadian dollar; Kenyan shillings; Swiss franc; Japanese yen; Danish krone; Australian dollar; and the Tanzanian shilling. The per-transaction limit is UGX 50,000,000 (US$ 13,638) while the daily transfer limit is at UGX 100,000,000 (US $27,257).

The app can only be used by active Absa internet banking subscribers at this time, but there are plans to add non-subscribers in the future.
