7-Eleven launches order ahead, expands delivery

Convenience store chain 7-Eleven has expanded its mobile ordering capability to allow customers to order ahead.

Users of the 7NOW delivery app can now place orders before they arrive at their neighborhood 7-Eleven store, skip the line and automatically check out with their purchase.

"As people struggle to adapt to new routines in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, 7-Eleven is committed to helping customers get what they need — when, where and how they need it," Chris Tanco, chief operating officer at 7-Eleven, said in a company release. "The new pickup option on our 7NOW delivery app is an example of how we're meeting customer needs to be in and out of stores quickly with minimal touchpoints and increased physical distancing, while also making life a little easier."

The convenience store chain is also doubling its delivery footprint, and will be available along with pickup at 2,000 stores in 1,300 cities. The Irving, Texas-based company has more than 11,800 stores in North America and 70,000 worldwide that are either owned, licensed or franchised. About 400 cities offered delivery as of April.

The 7NOW delivery app is available in 35 major markets and the 7Rewards loyalty program has more than 34 million members.
