The European carrier Vodafone has apparently dropped direct carrier billing in the Google Play Store for customers in the U.K., German, Italy and Spain, according to Android Police. Vodafone has disappeared from a list of carrier billing partners on the Google Play Store support page, the site reports, and neither Vodafone nor Google have said why.

Vodafone did confirm the change on a U.K. support site, but offered no explanation.

Play Store support for carrier billing in Europe was already spotty, Android Police said, and Vodafone's departure leaves only one carrier billing option in Italy (Wind), Spain (Movistar) and the U.K. (T-Mobile).
