Ticket company intros EMV mPOS acceptance through Payworks pact

VBO Tickets, a company that specializes in ticketing systems in the U.S., and Payworks, a point-of-sale payment products company, announced a partnership that is intended to expedite the way tickets are sold.

VBO Tickets will integrate Payworks' EMV card acceptance product into its app, VBO Touch, to enable event companies in the U.S. to access a mobile point-of-sale ticketing product that is intended to enable them to run their event sales faster and more cost-efficiently than before, according to a joint press release.

Payworks' accompanying EMV card reader connects to mobile devices through Bluetooth. Transactions are processed via Pulse, the Payworks' payment gateway.

“We expect more than 50 percent of VBO clients to use the VBO Touch app with the card acceptance component provided by Payworks in the next 12 months," VBO President and Co-founder David Boehme said in a statement. "And soon enough, this will become an integral solution for EMV card processing inside VBO Touch."
