SessionM expands mobile loyalty capabilities

Company's new offering gives retailers the ability to offer consumers custom rewards.

SessionM, the a mobile loyalty and engagement platform, today announced in a statement the Rewards for Merchants API, which enables retailers to offer a highly personalized and turnkey loyalty program to consumers. Through this new offering, any retailer can award SessionM's loyalty currency, known as mPOINTS, to consumers for qualified purchases which can be redeemed for rewards such as store gift cards and merchandise.

Shopping apps such as Punchcard and Scanlife already rely on SessionM's technology to drive audience engagement at the point of sale, according to the press release. With the Rewards for Merchants API, now mid-market and enterprise retailers can offer loyalty incentives to drive online and mobile purchases, the company said.

"With rapid time-to-market being a key value proposition, this solution is a perfect fit for mid-market or enterprise retailers seeking to deploy a proven, easy-to-implement loyalty program to generate larger and more frequent transactions," Mark Herrmann, SessionM's co-founder and chief product officer, said in a statement.

The Rewards for Merchants API will augment SessionM's Custom Audience Segment Targeting capabilities, enabling advertisers to deliver relevant, personalized marketing experiences that extend all the way to the end purchase, according to the announcement.

"SessionM has been driving mobile ad engagement with tremendous success over the last several years, and our ad platform is unmatched in its ability to captivate and engage highly targeted audiences," SessionM co-founder and CEO Lars Albright said in a statement. "We've already proven to merchants and brands that we can motivate activity on the path to purchase. Now we're showing that we can motivate the actual purchase."
