Mazooma Inc. said its board of directors named Justin Ferabee, a former executive at Payments Canada, as its new chief executive officer. 

Mazooma said the announcement comes as the Atlanta-based company set record growth during the first half of 2019, as sports betting and i-gaming rapidly expands in the U.S. 

"There's huge momentum in the industry right now as more and more U.S. states legalize sports betting," Ferabee said in a company release. "Mazooma is poised as a frontrunner in this growing segment and I'm excited to lead the company at such a pivotal time."

Ferabee recently served as the chief operating officer at Payments Canada, an organization that manages that country's payments and settlement infrastructure.
