Cubic Transportation to launch mobile advertising, loyalty program starting with Ricola
Cubic Corp. said its Cubic Transportation Systems unit will launch an advertising and loyalty rewards program on its mobile app and in public transit gate areas and ticket vending machines, with cough drop maker Ricola as its first brand to advertise.
Cubic, which is the company behind New York and other contactless payment trials for mass transit, will allow customers to interact with the ads, while earning points that can be redeemed for future transit or special offers from inside the app.
"Transit and traveler apps are truly valuable avenues for brands to reach more customers," Matt Cole, president of Cubic Transportation Systems, said in a company release. "We are excited to leverage the power of mobile to connect transit agencies with brands such as Ricola to create innovative and tailored loyalty programs."
