You can now buy 7-Eleven pizza, coffee, slurpees or anything else off the retail convenience store's shelves using Apple Pay and Google Pay.

The two mobile payment systems are now in play at 7-Eleven stores across the country, according to a press release, and are in response to consumers' preferences.

"Frictionless experiences are the future, and digital payments are key to such experiences," Gurmeet Singh, CDO and CIO of 7-Eleven, said in the release. "Consumers prefer shopping at retailers that offer digital payment capabilities."

The news comes at a time retailers across the board are busy striving to meet consumer expectations with new payment as well as delivery options. It also comes one month after wholesale giant Costco rolled out Apple Pay after it had deployed both Samsung Pay and Google Pay.

The convenience chain is also busy pushing out its new 7-Eleven NOW proprietary smartphone app into select U.S. markets.
